The series of events, which is divided into three online modules and two classroom sessions with different focal points, is organized jointly with the Fondation de France, Strasbourg, and with the professional support of the Deutsch-Französisches Institut, Ludwigsburg. The initiative is supported by the Deutsch-Französisches Jugendwerk (DFJW) within the framework of its Deutsch-Französischen Bürgerfonds (Franco-German Citizens' Fund).
Philanthropy as a pillar of our modern society follows different paths in France and Germany. Do these different paths and experiences provide an opportunity to look back on successes in development for the common good? Are these successes transferable to the respective neighboring country? Are there synergies and potentials of cooperation?
"Our initiative is a first. Beyond concrete project cooperation on specific topics, there have been no efforts to date to compare German and French philanthropy - especially the work of foundations in both countries - and to explore possible approaches to strategic cooperation," says Hans Beitz, Chairman of the ASKO Europa-Stiftung.
On July 12, starting at 10:30 a.m., the next event will take place - in a face-to-face format. Building on the results from the online discussions, strategies will be developed in working groups and further collaborations will be opened up.
Further information will follow shortly.
